Nilit to sponsor German-Israeli collaboration to promote textile circularity

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2021-06-15 13:17:14 – Israel

Nilit, a leader in high-quality, sustainable Nylon 6.6 for garments, is going to sponsor a pioneering German-Israeli collaboration to promote textile circularity. The program will be officially launched on June 17 at Expo Tel Aviv, with the Circular Textiles Business Matchmaking Showroom, presented by Re-Fresh Global.

The exhibition marks the beginning of a year-long collaboration between German and Israeli specialists on sustainability, circularity, and textile waste management. The German Israeli Future Forum Foundation is funding the initiative.

Nilit General Manager, Ilan Melamed, said Nilit's mission of positively influencing the textile and clothing sector to utilize more sustainable goods in more responsible ways is ideally aligned with this creative alliance. Nilit has been awarded for growing its usage of renewable energy, lowering emissions and waste, and offering environmentally responsible innovative solutions that address specific environmental concerns. They’re excited to collaborate with other environmentally conscious businesses to further their environmental initiatives.

Viktoria Kanar for Re-Fresh said Israel's status as the "Startup Nation" has had a huge influence on a variety of businesses. It's past time for them to demonstrate their leadership in sustainability and circular economy innovation. This showroom, as well as the German-Israeli expert exchange program upon which it is founded, is a first step toward creating new ideas and technology that will result in a new, cleaner, and more circular global fashion and textile sector that will benefit all people and the environment.

Nilit manufactures the industry's broadest line of sustainable premium Nylon 6.6 performance and fashion fibers and yarns as part of its Total Product Sustainability initiative. Sensil, the company's consumer brand, has unveiled many new solutions that are specially targeted at the industry's most critical environmental concerns. Sensil WaterCare removes 100% of the water required in traditional wet dyeing, and Sensil BioCare includes technology that lowers the impact of microfiber shedding on oceans.

Melamed added collaboration throughout the whole textile value chain is required for breakthrough ideas in sustainability and circularity. At Nilit, they make use of their workers' ingenuity as well as their vendor and client relationships. They’re certain that this unique German-Israeli exchange program will broaden their horizons and contribute to significant reductions in their industry's environmental footprint.
