Swedish retail giant H&M has launched their summer 2021 swimwear collection made of recycled polyester that is 85 percent recycled. It is the company's most sustainable swimwear collection to date.
H&M's summer collection, which features sustainably sourced materials, seeks to transform how women feel in their swimwear. Among today's noise, the confident pieces in this series offer a feeling of comfort and peace.
The summer 2021 swimwear collection, which will be available online and in stores starting in early June, includes curved briefs, classic bandeaus, and feminine off-the-shoulder tops. These swimwear parts will be available in sizes 50EU online and 46EU in-store, as well as breaking new ground in sustainable fabrications.
A mix of pre-consumer recycled polyester from clothing waste and post-consumer waste from recycled bottles was used to create the fabrics used in the collection.
Head of design womenswear at H&M, Maria Östblom, said she is especially proud of the fabrics in this swimwear collection; it's their most environmentally friendly swimwear collection yet, with at least 85 percent recycled polyester in every style. For this swimwear range, they are pleased to deliver universal sizing.
