Timberland has launched a new line of eco-conscious hikers to its list, made from regenerative leather, as part of its pledge to make a net positive effect on the environment by 2030.
According to the company, the latest Greenstride Solar Wave EK+ Collection for men is available in mid, medium, and low fabric designs and features eco-conscious fabrics from "heel to toe."
The GreenStride soles are made of 75 percent recycled materials, including sugar cane and natural rubber from trees, to provide "natural comfort'' while the uppers are made from regenerative leather.
These modern styles are also Earthkeepers Edition styles, denoted by an EK+ to represent Timberland's eco-innovations in terms of both fabrics and manufacturing methods.
Timberland's regenerative leather offering has been expanded with the Greenstride Solar Wave EK+ line, which is part of the brand's goal to procure 100% of its raw products from regenerative agriculture.
According to Timberland, regenerative activities imitate nature by allowing the land to effectively pull carbon out of the environment, where it is unwanted, and store it in the field, restoring the soil structure and contributing to healthy, hydrated, fertile ground, resulting in net positive impacts for the land and farmers.
The global vice president of marketing for Timberland, Drieke Leenknegt said that with the introduction of the Greenstride Solar Wave EK+ series as Earth Day approaches, they are working for a greener and more equitable future. The use of advanced eco-materials like regenerative leather reflects significant change as they fulfill their 2030 goal for Timberland goods to have a net positive impact on nature.
