In order to recreate its iconic Wallabee silhouette, Clarks Originals and Sporty & Rich collaborated to bring their new collection. Keeping in mind the brand identity of both of them, the design and elements along the sustainability are well taken care of.
Clarks Originals say the "Heinen Hillcrest '' is a family-run tannery located in Germany, and has been the inspiration behind this collaboration. The company is rigorously trying to reduce the carbon footprint for so many years by practicing energy-efficient production processes and planting trees in Uganda. There are approximately 6 tons of Co2 emissions produced by the leather tanning process. The sole of the shoe is also FSC certified; to make it a social and environmentally responsible outsole to date.
Clarks is supporting responsible management of the World's forests, by choosing these products. Sustainability starts with the idea of packaging a box with 90% recycled paper and printed with water-based inks. The Wallabee needed to be redesigned and got released in 3 unisex colorways, otherwise Merlot, Cream Puff and Robin's Egg Blue.
Emily Oberg, founder of Sporty & Rich said they appreciate working with Clarks Originals and commits sustainability in their efforts. The collection stands for timelessness, aesthetics and environmentally conscious ethos mirrors the spirit and ambition of Clarks Originals.
