What are the end uses of acrylic?

Acrylic fabric is known for certain properties such as lightweight, soft and insulative. Other properties such as resistance to rot, mildew and moth make it a tough opponent in front of wool.

• Apparel: Acrylic fiber is widely used in winter apparel such as sweaters, imitation fur, gloves, socks, hoodies, coats, pants etc and has replaced wool due to its low price and easy availability. Acrylic fiber is also used as knitted yarns.

• Home Textiles: Blankets, curtains, carpets and rugs are also made using acrylic fabric.

• Acrylic fabric is not much used in the industrial sector as it is highly inflammable.
