What are the environmental impacts of hemp fiber?

In addition, one-acre land cultivated with hemp can produce 1500 pounds of fibers that is almost three times the amount of cotton production. Alongside the water consumption in hemp cultivation is less than cotton.
• Hemp also helps to control and prevent soil erosion and produces oxygen. • Hemp also acts as a bio-accumulator and thus reduces soil pollution.
Additionally, hemp is a carbon-negative raw material i.e. it absorbs more carbon than it produces.
• Also, while considering the production process employed for hemp it is quite a dicey to conclude that the producer of the fabric abides by the sustainable practices or not for both cultivation and manufacturing of hemp fabric.
