1TcA (One Thought Changes All), a start-up company in the UK, has utilized HeiQ Viroblock antimicrobial technology to its first product collection. The collection contains reusable and recyclable face masks and snoods, all of them manufactured using fabric woven from recycled waste plastic.
Raj Kumari is the brainchild among three socially and environmentally conscious mothers, Laura Wiggins and Satwinder Kalsi. 1TcA stated that it was aware of the risk involved in making face masks that act as a vector for viruses and bacteria.
The company identified HeiQ Viroblock technologies to be among the first finishing techniques to successfully test against the virus of COVID-19. In addition, the company has said that this technology makes the fabric resistant to harmful microbes.
With respect to the product, the treatment is to last up to 30 washes at 30°C and an expected lifespan of approximately a year. At the end of its life cycle, the product can be returned for recycling.
