In China, FDY70D/24F SD prices rolled over in the first week of March, while FDY40D declined US cents 6 a kg on the week. DTY 70D/24F prices also were up US cents 6 a kg and 30D/10F rose US cents 6 a kg on the week.
Nylon filament yarn markets lacked strength to pick up to relieve cost pressure. Yarn makers kept stable operation while downstream converters consumed inventory, showing demand for nylon yarn. Warp knitting, weaving and AJ covering sectors witnessed smooth demand and operated at 80-90% capacity.
Circular knitting mills and lacing mills ran at 40-70% capacities, implying modest demand for nylon yarn. In March-April, mills will continue to increase run rate, boosting demand for nylon yarn. Fishing net yarn, monofilament, staple fiber and cord fabric makers consumed inventory amid cautious sentiment.
