In China, FDY70D/24F SD prices fell US cents 5-8 a kg in the last week of April, while were down US cents 3 a kg on the week. DTY 70D/24F prices declined US cents 8-15 a kg while 30D/10F fell US cents 8-15 a kg on the week. Monofilament 30D prices were stable while nylon staple fiber 1.5D prices rolled over during the week.
Nylon filament yarn prices bowed to bearish pressure and easing cost pressure with nylon chip and caprolactum prices edging down. However, market sentiment turned stable despite flagging demand. Downstream converters maintained stable operation, implying moderate buying interest.
Warp?knitting, weaving and AJ covering sectors operated at 70% capacity while circular?knitting mills and lacing mills ran at 50% capacities, implying modest demand for nylon yarn. Fishing?net yarn, monofilament, staple fiber and cord fabric makers made some procurement given lean inventory. Overall, nylon yarn markets are expected see bottom given moderate fundamentals.
