Prime Minister of Jordan Hani Mulki as part of the government's development and job-creation strategy in the Kingdom's various regions, on Monday laid the foundation stone of two garment factories in Arjan in the Ajloun Governorate and Souf in the Jerash Governorate.
The apparel factory in Ajloun, which is being launched by a local manufacturing company, will provide 250 jobs, mostly for women, in the area, one of the poorest in the Kingdom.
The clothing factory in Souf, an Indian investment in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour and the Development and Employment Fund, will create about 500 jobs for young men and women in the area.
The Prime Minister said that the government is seeking to find jobs for Jordanians in various vocations, adding that the government had worked in a partnership with the private sector to uplift industrial and economic sectors and launch projects to provide income for job seekers, as well as support small enterprises and attract investment.
