With customers’ needs becoming more explicit on yarn quality requirements to meet the end-users’ demands. Lakshmi Machine Works (LMW) Textile machinery manufacturing major has introduced a compact spinning system which can improve the efficiency of loom by 10 per cent.
The new compact spinning system helps compacting or condensing minimises the width and height of the spinning triangle. Fibres align more uniformly with less hairiness and uniform twist flows.
Currently, the user industry has been managing with retrofit spinning. However the new compact spinning system can be fitted to the existing machines as also new ones. It would cost Rs 1,300 more per spindle. The monthly rollout of the compact spinning system is estimated at 60,000 to 70,000 units.
According to M. Sankar, Vice President - SMG, LMW, the new system has helped them set new standards in compact spinning technology. With the market showing signs of improvement, they plan to roll out close to 2 to 2.5 lakh spindles every month at present.
With the textile sector upbeat about growth prospects, the demand is bound to go up.
LMW used the TexFair 2013 platform to formally introduce the compact spinning system.
