AM Nonwovens established by Abilash Andrew, business entrepreneur from United Kingdom, purely with a idea of supporting the society with eco-friendly products. Madurai-headquartered AM Nonwovens has next planned to get into production of non-woven home textile segment having already started with production of non-woven medical textile product range.

The company has commenced with the installation of machinery for manufacture of non-woven home textile products which will be completed by March 15. But before commencing commercial production they plan to conduct a trial run

The company’s products are currently on display at the medical textiles expo – Meditex 2014, a three day event held at SITRA Expo Hall in Coimbatore which took off to a glittering start.

Abilash talking over his venture said that to establish the unit at Narimedu in Madurai it involve a cost of around Rs.1 crore and they are planning to pump in more money for home textile product range, without quantifying the sum.

AM Nonwovens has engaged 20 people at its factory to operate the machines, each machine has the production capacity of 12 to 15 lakh pieces per month.

The company has also tied up with hospitals in Madurai and Chennai for supply of their requirements.

The company is not only keen to cater the domestic market but are focusing on the export potential for such products as there is a rise in demand for such products month-on-month.

Its medical textiles product range includes face mask, surgeon cap, shoe cover (pp and non-woven), apron, surgical gown, bed spread with pillow cover, knee cover and few custom made products.
