Textile factories consume a huge amount of power for their production, but by being able to product their own electricity, solar power which can considerable reduce the cost of energy, which will also help to a great extent reduce its cost of production. There is no loss in production as there is no energy storage system required.
Around 80 per cent of the solar power generated by the modules installed at Limonta's facilities is being used by the textile factories which help the company save more than 250,000 Euros in electricity costs each year. The textile factories’ production lines have been designed to enable them to immediately consume the majority of the solar power generated.
In 2013, Limonta spa in Lombardy, Northern Italy put into operation two rooftop plants with outputs of 720 kilowatts peak and 466 kWp on its building based on the excellent performance of the first two system, an additional two solar installations with outputs of 499 kWp and 199 kWp, respectively, were installed in March 2014 at the textile group’s sites in Cologno al Serio and Costa Masnaga in the same region.
Making use of solar power, textile industry will not only be able to save a huge amount in electricity cost and will help the industry reduce its cost of production and have an uninterrupted power supply of its own.
