Sayrung Prajit who holds a boutique in Siam Square – Vintage Corner – known for its rare vintage pieces, old-fashioned bridal gowns and costume jewellery created between the 1920s and the '90s has created a new brand “g.a.s” for trendy office goers.

Her teammates include her mates Kullaya Kassakul and Pimsiri Kanthitinun. After the brand's launch last month, Sayrung decided to devote the prime portion of her boutique to showcase her new colourful, vintage-inspired line that includes easy to mix-and-match pieces.

She said that they wanted to design outfits that are a perfect fit for imperfect figures. Our pieces come in vivid shades and are beautifully tailored. They play with polka dots, chequered, stripes and floral prints.

The designs in the latest line reflect three different characters. Sayrung focuses on the classic silhouette with refined chic, using quality fabric with unique prints; Kullaya takes inspiration from British singer Adele and designs outfits for the slightly plump among us; while Pimsiri goes for the sweet, elegant look.

Mostly made using old stocks of material from Japan and South Korea, items under the “g.a.s” label come in classic patterns with playful details. The ladies have just come up with 10 new creations for the hot season, including summer jackets that are paired with shorts, classic belted dresses in bright colours, pencil skirts in floral and chequered prints, 50s-style full circle skirts, maxi dresses and kaftans.

Sayrung said that they pay attention to every detail. All skirts are lined and blouses come with a tag to stop your bra strap from slipping. South Korea is known for its soft fabric in attractive retro prints, while Japan offers quality textile and elaborate embroidery. They’ve received good feedback so far and plan to create a collection of swimsuits soon.
