Brandix India Apparel City (BIAC) signs MoUs with four Chinese players, Jiangsu Kingday Textile Co Limited, Zhejiang Hengyuan Chemical Fiber Group, Kunshan Rising Textile and Garment Co Limited as well as Sumec Textile and Light Industry Co Limited to facilitate direct investment in home textiles in its facility located at Atchuthapuram mandal in the district.
BIAC signed MoUs with Chinese players on Friday during CM N Chandrababu Naidu's visit to China to garner investments for AP.
BIAC has 10 manufacturing units spread over 1,000 acres land which includes UK-based Quantum Clothing, Ocean India, Seeds Intimate Apparel, Pioneer Elastics, Shore to Shore, Vardhman Yarns and Threads Limited, International Trimmings and Labels, Ribest Ribbons and Bows (India) Private Limited, S&S Industries, Screenline Printing apart from three of its own units involved in manufacturing ladies underwear and T-shirts.
BIAC also has an effluent treatment plant with a capacity of treating 56 million litres of effluent discharge, which is then piped 9 km and discharged offshore, according to details available on its website.
Incidentally, a Chinese delegation led by the secretary general of the China Chamber of Commerce along with senior officials of leading Chinese apparel and textile manufacturing companies had visited BIAC in 2013 to review the viability of Chinese companies setting up shop there due to the value proposition the facility offers, the BIAC website said.
