Blended yarn price remains stable across Asia

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2016-02-08 06:15:42 –

In Qianqing, PC (65/35) 32s yarn prices were stable in the last week of January while 45s PC combed yarn prices rolled over on the week.

Blended spun yarn prices remained relatively stable in the last seven days in China, with however a few rates slightly declining.

Spinners were in holiday mood with production being cut in order to reduce inventories before holidays. Inventories were down, especially in case of 24s PC, 31 PC and 38 PC yarns.

In Pakistan, cotton prices continued rising in the week and as a result, cotton-polyester price difference reached a level not seen since end 2010.

24 PC (52/48) carded yarn prices remained unchanged on the Faisalabad market while 30s were held steady on the week.

In India, blended yarn prices have slightly moved in the week but a relatively high level of cotton prices supported yarn prices. Thus, export prices were seen moving up for polyester-cotton (65-35) yarn during the week.

30s (65/35) PV warp yarn prices inched up INR1 a kg (up US cent 1) in Indore market. In Ludhiana, PC 30s (52/48) prices rolled over during the week.
