USA - Energy and weak spot behind benzene price dip.

Contract values of benzene fell by EUR 21/tonne to $1050/tonne, equivalent to EUR 769/tonne FOB NEW, in the week before 6 Aug 2007. This was attributed to lower gasoline prices and a sluggish spot market.
In Jul 2007, spot prices of benzene dropped by about $30/tonne; gasoline prices fell by $51-52/tonne to $696-697/tonne. In the USA, benzene contract prices fell by 11 cents/gallon to $3.59/gallon FOB in early Aug 2007.
